1. You must expect it.
"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man..." (1 Corinthians 10:13).

2. Jesus Christ will see you through.
"God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

"I can do everything through [Christ] who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13).

3. You need not be defeated.
"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin" (1 John 2:1).

4. But if you fail--Jesus Christ is faithful.

(1) Confess your failure

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

(2) Receive forgiveness

"But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks in the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One" (1 John 2:1).
